Bonnie Hat

Bonnie Hat

Bonnie Hat

Here is a easy hat pattern I am sure you will enjoy!

The only stitch you need is the half double crochet (half dc)

Once you get the hang of this pattern, you may even find it addictive, and wanting to make lots of hats and beanies for your family and friends! Christmas is coming!

I used 1 ball of Rainbow Blended Color Yarn Cake to make the hat and the pom-pom, and the size 7 crochet hook.

Recommendation:

Yarn – you don’t want to use a yarn that is thin. Select one with some weight, but not too heavy.

1. Rainbow Blended Color Yarn Cake  - This yarn was used to make this Bonnie Hat

2. Cotton Blend Yarn Cake

3. Harmony Color Milk Cotton Yarn

Crochet hook size 7 or 8

Instructions:

Step 1 - For the size I made, the material and the hook I used, I chained 50 for the foundation row.

Step 2 -

Row 1 – (hdc) all the way to the end. Chain-2, turn.

Row 2 – hdc and all you want to do is yarn over insert your hook into the back loop yarn. Pull through and then yarn over pull through all three loops on the hook.

Row 3 - Repeat Row 2 to the desired width. I stopped at 22 inches

Step 3 – Use a darling needle to sew up the two edges.

Step 4 – Sc around the bottom to smooth out the bottom edge.

Step 5 – Close the top.

Step 5 – (optional) put a pom-pom on top.
