Blanket - Colorful Granny
Start: Make 6 ch and join with sl to form foundation ring.
Row 1: ch 3 (to count as first dc), then 2dc into the ring, (*2ch, 3 dc) 3 times, 2 ch, join with sl st to 3rd ch. Finish off 1st color.
Join 2nd color to the corner by holding the end of the yarn and pulling the loop under the chain. Work the first stitches over the loose ends of both colors.
Row 2: 3ch, (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) into same space, (3dc, 2ch, 3dc into next sp) 3 times, join with sl st to top of 3ch. Continue the following rounds in the same way, working a 3-dc cluster into every space along the four sides, with two in each corner.
You can join the individual squares together in two ways, by sewing or with crochet. Sewing hand stitching gives a flat seam, which is invisible if using same matching yarn, while crocheting produces a ridge effect.
